Taking care of baby hygiene is an extremely important part of daily care. Remember that during hygienic procedures, you should be careful not to hurt your child accidentally. It’s important to take care of baby’s safety during the bath or changing a diaper. For example: during changing a diaper do not lift the baby by the feet and during washing baby’s armpits do not pull its hands.

Moreover, babies have more delicate skin than adults, there taking care of the appropriate hygiene is very important. Parents should not rub the skin of the newborn baby because it’s too delicate to that! After a bath parents should gently dry the baby by wrapping into a towel.
Water should have a temperature close to the heat of the body (about 37°C and 98°F), and the room should be not less than 21-22°C (69-72°F).
There are special products than parent should purchase to take care of baby’s skin.
First of all, there are special baby bathtubs, some of them have an adjustable seat inside. We can also find on the market baby shampoos, soaps and cleaners, appropriate for delicate skin, susceptible to irritation. Some products are also designed for allergic or atopic skin.
It is also very important to properly take care of baby’s ears. Infant and toddlers are particularly susceptible to ear infections.
Disposable diapers contain chemicals that can be harmful for baby’s delicate skin. Therefore diapers and wipes should be also properly chosen to not cause sensitization or rash. Parents should also remember about frequent changing and using nappy rash cream. It is also worth to consider using ecological diapers or cloth diapers.
There are also special baby hairbrush and small baby nail scissors. Parents can also purchase special baby towels. Remember to wash them (as well as baby clothes) in a special powder or liquid for washing baby things.
